‘Fly’, graphite on paper, 14 x 21 cm. These wings were inspired by the Caddis fly, an insect that relies on and dwells near streams, rivers and ponds. ‘Lady Shrooms’, graphite on paper, 14 x 21 cm. From a study of the oyster mushroom, Pleurotus ostreatus. Fungi, but moreso mycelium, play a vital role in our ecosystems, yet are destroyed by wildfires, the planting of monoculture and deforestation. ‘Plant Head / Grow Your Mind’, graphite on paper, 14 x 21 cm. The plant drawn here is based on the Powdery Strap Airplant, a carnivorous plant that is endangered. ’Butterfly Head', graphite on paper, 14 x 21 cm. From a study of the Wall butterfly, which is now in drastic decline ‘Roots’, graphite on paper, 14 x 21 cm. Based on scans of dandelion plant roots that were harvested to turn into a powerful and healing tincture. 'Fractured but Holy', graphite on cyanotype print, 26 x 29.5 cm
